Who we build with
The trade the region’s builders call back
Repeat work with the same high-end builders, year after year — Ort & Co Building across multiple projects (“we’ve enjoyed working together for years”), JSH Projects at Avoca, TMS Construction at Bonnels Bay and Eleebana. Builders come back because the steel turns up right and goes in on programme.

Habitat Landscape@habitatlandscapeHow we work
Design. Fabricate. Install.
01Send plans, engineer's drawings, photos or just the idea. We turn it into workshop drawings and a price — and flag anything that won't work before it's made.
02Built in the Morisset workshop — steel, stainless and aluminium, powder-coated to spec. Curves, perforation, glass: whatever the drawing calls for.
03The same crew that built it fits it — measured to the actual site, sequenced to your programme, finished to handover standard.
One crew, no handoffs: the people who draw it build it, and the people who build it install it. When a detail changes on site, the workshop knows the same day — not after three phone calls.
Who’s building your steel
The JR FAB crew, Morisset
J.R Fabrications is a Morisset-based architectural fabrication workshop supplying the builds between Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter and the Central Coast. Balustrades, staircases, screens, fencing, structural steel — designed, fabricated and installed by the same crew.
The work speaks in specifics: a single spine stringer at Bonnels Bay, curved balustrades through matching duplexes on Mitchell Street, a whole facade’s worth of hoods, stairs and screens at Parkway. Demand from the region’s high-end builders keeps the workshop growing — the same builders, project after project.

FAQ
Fair questions, straight answers
Most of our work comes through builders — Ort & Co, JSH Projects, TMS Construction and others, many across multiple projects. Send the architect's or engineer's drawings and we'll come back with a price and any buildability flags before anything is fabricated.
Yes — that's the normal starting point. We turn design intent into workshop drawings, confirm the details that matter (fixings, junctions, finishes), then fabricate to those drawings. If something on the drawing won't survive real-world use, you hear about it before it's made.
That's plenty to start. Homeowners often come to us with a screenshot of a stair or balustrade they love — we design it for your space, price it, and you decide from there. Design is the first step of every job anyway.
Powder coating in the full Colorbond and Dulux ranges — Surfmist satin and matt black are the two we fabricate most — plus stainless and raw architectural finishes. Coastal jobs get coastal-grade prep; a beachfront balustrade is built for the salt.
Yes — frameless glass balustrades and glass pool fencing, supplied and installed along with the steel it fixes to. One trade on site instead of two.
Based in Morisset, working across Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, the Hunter and the Central Coast — Avoca to Bar Beach in the current portfolio. Outside that? Ask — for the right job we travel.
Honestly: it depends on the workshop schedule and the complexity of the piece. Tell us your programme dates in the form and we'll tell you straight away whether they're achievable — before you commit to anything.
